Situated in the emerging US style financial development at Canary Wharf, Citibank European headquarters provides 90,000m2 of space on seventeen floors, including two 3 000m2 trading floors. The building is organised into two zones adjacent to a vertical central atrium, with the service core to the east connected to a large uninterrupted office floors to the west. Workers cross over the main atrium spaces via glass balustraded bridges. In the main work areas individual offices are arranged around the perimeter and tight rows of system furniture occupy the inner areas of the building. The centre of the plan houses smaller garden atria, meeting rooms, fire escapes and areas of archiving.
